2017 FAIRMONT MENS LEAGUE RULES

 

1. Check this site for approved bats: Check certified equipment at
www.teamusa.org

2. Courtesy runner allowed ONCE PER INNING SAME - WILL BE

ANY PLAYER - if the player is on base when their turn at bat comes

up an out will be called - and the player will come to bat in proper order.

3. Bat your own balls. Any cor 52/.300 allowed. A new ball can be

put in play only after the existing ball is hit out of play or a homerun,

or judge unplayable by the umpire.

 

4. A CARPET WILL BE USED FOR BALLS AND STRIKES.

PLATE IS NOT A STRIKE.

 

TEAMS UMP OWN GAMES - NOT UMPING WILL

RESULT IN NOT BEING ALLOWED IN PLAYOFFS OR FINE

OTHER FAIRMONT LEAGUE RULES.
ALL OTHER RULES COVERED BY THE ASA RULE BOOK

Coin Flip will determine Home Team. Home team
will keep official book.

SIX HOMERUN RULE: After 6 homeruns the next
homerun hit the batter will be called out.

Teams hit their own ball when at bat.
At the start of the game, teams must
give one ball to opposing pitcher and
one to the umpire. After last out pitcher
will take opposing teams ball with him to
dugout and bring out the next inning.

Game time is forfeit time. Umpires judgment.
No Steel spikes. Penalty is forfeiture

20 run rule after 3 innings
15 run rule after 4 innings
12 run rule after five innings.

Profanity rule will be enforced.

Batters will start with a 1-1 count.
There is no courtesy foul ball.

Seven players are needed to start the game.
Can finish with 1. No penalty for injured
or leaving players. Players arriving late must
play field before batting.

Extra player-EP-team may bat 11 players only.
EP must remain in same position in batting
order. Any ten players can play defense.

Warm-up pitches: Excessive warm-up pitches
shall be penalized by awarding a ball to
batter. 3 pitches to start game, 1 between
innings. HUSTLE BETWEEN INNINGS.

Winning team must report score and highlights
of game that night.
a) Drop scores in box at field.
b) Scores not reported will not count in standings!

in the Fairmont Photo Press or on the web- Fairmont
softball homepage at: http://chirps.tripod.com

Protests: Notify umpire. Written protest must be
made within 24 hours of completion of game to
league director with $25 check. Teams not having
first and last names of both teams in book at
game time forfeit right to protest.
League director's decision final!
Judgment calls cannot be protested!

Ejected players suspended from next game.
This includes playoffs.
Flagrant Ejection: Suspension for rest of season!
Must appeal to MSF next year for reinstatement!

Game Cancellations:
A) during game or start of game at fields-umpires
decision
B) listen to KSUM/KFMC or answering machine
235-6819. Cancellation determined as
soon as possible.

Rescheduling games: Cancellation:
Notify league directior,
Randy Chirpich (507)235-6819 and other
team 24 hours before game.
Rain outs: League director will
reschedule and notify umpire.

In case of a ties: winner determined by
1) Overall record against rest of teams in the league.
2) Head to head.
3) Total runs scored between the two teams during season.
4) Flip of coin.

PLAYOFFS-will be double elimination tournaments.
Highest seeds will be home team in first playoff game.
After that coin flip. 12 run rule is in effect for all games.
